Onze lieve vriendin Evi heeft een neurologische aandoening waarbij ze geen ledlicht kan verdragen. Ze wordt er fysiek ernstig ziek van. Ze leeft nu in haar veilige, aangepaste huis en haar buurtnetwerk is haar lijntje naar de buitenwereld. 

Nu dreigt ze haar huis - en daarmee haar zorgnetwerk - te verliezen, tenzij we op korte tijd voldoende geld kunnen inzamelen.

Voor de meeste mensen is ledverlichting een vanzelfsprekend onderdeel van het leven. Het brengt comfort en gezelligheid en maakt zoveel dingen mogelijk. Voor Evi betekent het een voortdurende aanslag op haar gezondheid en haar mogelijkheden om deel te nemen aan het leven.

Evi heeft een neurologische aandoening waarbij ledlicht en digitale geluiden ernstige zenuwpijn en neurologische ontregeling teweegbrengen. Dit uit zich onder andere in problemen met coördinatie, concentratie, spraak en geheugen, en in ernstige zenuwpijn zoals trigeminusneuralgie, occipitalisneuralgie, migraine en een brandend gevoel in de huid.

Haar wereld werd steeds kleiner, want ledlicht is overal.

Met haar kunst om schoonheid te zien in kleine dingen en haar blik op wat wél mogelijk is, bouwde Evi stap voor stap een leven uit waarin ze binnen haar mogelijkheden kan functioneren, haar plek in de wereld kan innemen en kan blijven delen wat haar zo bijzonder maakt.

Haar woning - ingebed in haar netwerk - is daarbij niet zomaar een huis. Het is een veilige thuis. 

Vandaag dreigt Evi deze plek te verliezen.

Vanwege haar specifieke woonzorgnoden is er geen alternatief beschikbaar en is er nauwelijks perspectief.

Door de impact van haar neurologische aandoening heeft Evi geen reële toegang tot de arbeidsmarkt. De ondersteuning die ze als persoon met een handicap krijgt, is waardevol en koestert ze elke dag. Maar om te behouden wat essentieel is — haar aangepaste woning en het zorg- en buurtnetwerk dat doorheen de jaren vorm kreeg — maakt extra financiële draagkracht het verschil.

Daarom starten we deze crowdfunding.

Om deze plek veilig te stellen: een woonomgeving waar Evi haar gezondheid zo goed mogelijk kan beschermen, haar zelfstandigheid zoveel mogelijk kan behouden en er kan blijven zijn voor haar zoon.

Waarvoor wordt het geld gebruikt?

Alle donaties gaan naar het behoud van Evi's aangepaste woning en de noodzakelijke herstellingen en werken.

• Het eerste doel is €50.000. Hiermee kunnen we de eerste noodzakelijke stappen zetten om Evi's woonzekerheid te beschermen en de meest dringende kosten op te vangen.
• Alles daarboven draagt bij aan een structurele oplossing.
• Ongeveer €170.000 zou het mogelijk maken om de woning duurzaam te behouden, de noodzakelijke herstellingen en aanpassingen uit te voeren en de financiële haalbaarheid op lange termijn te bewaren.

Elke gift maakt het verschil. Elke bijdrage helpt om deze veilige plek te behouden.

Ook het delen van deze actie helpt om mensen te bereiken die mee het verschil kunnen maken.

Our dear friend Evi has a neurological condition where she cannot tolerate LED light. It makes her seriously physically ill. She currently lives in her safe, adapted home, and her neighborhood network is her lifeline to the outside world.

Now she is at risk of losing her home - and with it, her care network - unless we can raise sufficient funds in a short time.

For most people, LED lighting is a natural part of life. It brings comfort and coziness and makes so many things possible. For Evi, however, it represents a constant assault on her health and her ability to participate in life.

Evi has a neurological condition in which LED light and digital sounds trigger severe nerve pain and neurological dysregulation. This manifests itself in problems with coordination, concentration, speech, and memory, among other things, as well as severe nerve pain such as trigeminal neuralgia, occipital neuralgia, migraines, and a burning sensation in the skin.

Her world became increasingly smaller, because LED light is everywhere.

With her ability to see beauty in small things and her focus on what *is* possible, Evi built a life step by step in which she can function within her capabilities, take her place in the world, and continue to share what makes her so special.

Her home - embedded in her network - is not just any house. It is a safe home.

Today, Evi is in danger of losing this place. 

Due to her specific residential care needs, no alternative is available and there is hardly any prospect.

Because of the impact of her neurological condition, Evi has no real access to the labour market. The support she receives as a person with a disability is valuable, and she cherishes it every day. But to preserve what is essential — her adapted home and the care and neighbourhood network that has taken shape over the years — additional financial support makes all the difference.

That is why we are launching this crowdfunding campaign.

To secure this place: a living environment where Evi can protect her health as best as possible, maintain her independence as much as possible, and continue to be there for her son.

What will the money be used for?

All donations will go towards preserving Evi's adapted home and the necessary repairs and work.

• The first goal is €50,000. With this, we can take the first necessary steps to protect Evi's housing security and cover the most urgent costs.
• Anything above that contributes to a structural solution.
• Approximately €170,000 would make it possible to sustainably preserve the home, carry out necessary repairs and modifications, and maintain long-term financial viability.
