Zara is a dog that is missing part of the paws on two front limbs.

The nature of the wounds suggests that the injury could have been caused by a mine called “Petal”, which the Russians dropped on the frontline city of Kharkiv at the beginning of the full-scale invasion in 2022. It was there that Zara the dog was found with injured paws. 

Zara is about 3.5 years old. She is of medium build, with a brindle color. She is a cheerful and sensitive dog. After being found by volunteers, Zara was taken in by Patron Pet Center, an animal adoption and rehabilitation center in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine.

After the examination, it was decided to make false prostheses, but they did not work because Zara felt pain when her paw came into contact with the prosthesis.

Then we ordered a wheelchair to give the dog the ability to move normally. It was made to Zara's size and had 4 wheels. The rehabilitation went slowly but surely - Zara began to recall the physiological movements of her limbs.

Unfortunately, due to the weight of the wheelchair, Zara had a hard time adapting to the vehicle and mostly rested and did not want to walk.

We learned about Bionicpets ( https://www.instagram.com/bionicpets?igsh=MWc2eWYzZDU1M2xtNg%3D%3D ) from our friends and decided to make it easier for Zara to move around. We consulted with their experts, developed a plan of further actions and started collecting money! 

This task is difficult for the center's employees, but extremely important - because Zara has a chance for a normal life in a family. The only thing that prevents this is the inability to move easily and communicate with people more often.

With this fundraising, we want to help Zara start a new, happy life,  draw attention to animals suffering from the war in Ukraine and call on everyone who cares about animals to adopt them and make them happy!
