Dierenartskosten weesveulen Dublin
Op 14 juli 2022 verloor baby Dublin na vier dagen zijn mama aan een zeldzame complicatie bij de geboorte.
On July 10, 2022, Dublin was born at the veterinary clinic. At first the doctors thought he was dead, he was so small and fragile. Unfortunately, the birth did not end well for his mum, Doslina. She fought for another 4 days to give Dublin the necessary antibodies, but unfortunately died on 14 July during the operation that was supposed to save her life.
I got Doslina 12 years ago for my 9th birthday. Her loss is unbearable for us. The only thing that keeps me going is her foal, who still has a chance of a bright future.
After a long search, Dublin finally found a foster mum in the Netherlands yesterday. This mare can now stay with us for 10 months to raise him.
Unfortunately, not all Dublin's problems have been solved yet. Shortly after birth, he developed a serious eye infection that must now be treated at the clinic for at least another 2-3 weeks.
I don't have to tell you that this drama will cost an incredible amount of money. We currently estimate our costs at around 10,000 euros. This includes costs of trying to save the mare, crematorium costs, hiring a foster mare, medication costs for Dublin and box rent at the clinic.
I myself am a veterinary student and only 20 years old. Even though I do a student job several days a week and I always put money aside in case something goes wrong, I cannot bear these costs alone. Thanks to everyone who can spare a penny, no matter how small. We will be eternally grateful. Dublin is the only part of Doslina we have left.
Op 10 juli 2022 werd Dublin geboren op de dierenkliniek. Eerst dachten de artsen dat hij dood was, zo klein en fragiel was hij. Helaas liep de geboorte niet goed af voor zijn mama, Doslina. Zij heeft nog 4 dagen lang gevochten zodat Dublin de nodige antistoffen binnenkreeg, maar kwam helaas op 14 juli te overlijden tijdens de operatie die haar leven zou proberen redden.
Doslina heb ik 12 jaar gelden voor mijn 9de verjaardag gekregen. Haar verlies is voor ons ondragelijk. Het enigste dat ons sterk houdt, is haar veulen, die wel nog kans maakt op een mooie toekomst.
Na een lange zoektocht heeft Dublin uiteindelijk gisteren een pleegmama gevonden in Nederland. Deze mag nu 10 maand bij ons blijven om hem groot te brengen.
Helaas zijn nog niet al Dublin zijn problemen opgelost. Kort na de geboorte ontwikkelde hij een serieuze oogontsteking die nu nog minstens 2-3 weken op de kliniek behandeld moet worden.
Ik hoef jullie niet te vertellen dat dit drama ongeloofelijk veel geld zal kosten. Momenteel schatten we onze kosten op rond de 10.000 euro. Dit houdt in: kosten proberen redden merrie, crematoriumkosten, huren pleegmerrie, medicatiekosten Dublin en stalgeld op de kliniek.
Ikzelf ben student diergeneeskunde en maar 20 jaar. Ookal doe ik een studentenjob meerdere dagen per week en zet ik altijd geld apart voor het geval dat er iets misgaat, deze kosten kan ik niet alleen dragen. Iedereen die een centje kan uitsparen, hoe klein dan ook, 1000x bedankt. Dublin is namelijk het enige dat we nog van Doslina overhouden.
