Wil jij bijdragen? Elk bedrag is welkom. En delen is heel lief.

Veel liefs,
Max en Elze

Dear family, friends, and others reading this,

On November 22, 2022, the lives of Cees, Janneke and their beautiful daughters Ishah, Noa and Emma changed forever. Cees was diagnosed with colon cancer, and in the weeks that followed it became apparent that it had also spread to the liver. With hope, good prospects at the time, and the peace and closeness of God, this beautiful family entered a roller coaster. A roller coaster of radiation, chemotherapy, operations, admissions to the ER, sometimes good and unfortunately also less good results. Despite everything, they chose - and still choose every day - to continue living life to the full: with lots of love, trust, and often also with a lot of energy: sports, work, preaching, outings with the family, leading the church, holidays and lots of social contacts.

Last November, Cees was thought to be cancer free after a successful intestinal operation, but the February scan, which should have confirmed this, showed that the cancer in the liver had returned, or may have never completely gone away. The chance of recovery suddenly turned out to be very small, and this week the scan showed that the chemotherapy treatments that were supposed to prolong life had not worked. That news hit like a bomb. And although we deeply believe that it is ultimately God who decides when Cees should come home, the family needs to take these results seriously and they must prepare to say goodbye to Cees. That hurts a lot, especially for Cees, Janneke, Ishah, Noa and Emma. But also for the many family members and friends who love them very much.

We wish them to have everything in order, so that they can continue to enjoy the time that Cees still has with peace and quiet. We can help and support them in many ways, including through this crowdfunding. Cees and Janneke are still young, and like many of us, they have not taken out funeral insurance. A dignified farewell costs a lot of money, and we really want Janneke and the girls not to be left without any financial resources. With the grateful consent of Cees and Janneke themselves, we are therefore raising money for a beautiful funeral for Cees, and perhaps there will even be some left over to bless the family with some extra resources.

Do you want to contribute? Any amount is welcome. And sharing is very sweet.

Lots of love,

Max and Elze
