Surgery for our beloved cat Duvel after getting shot
Our cat got shot by an animal hater/torturer in our neighborhood. He is now forever paralyzed and needs surgery.
Our beloved cat Duvel was missing for several days. You would think, all's well that ends well but unfortunately that is not the case with us right now.
Duvel came home in terrible condition, he could barely stand on his hind legs and was completely starving. Unfortunately, we were not home ourselves but were surrounded by huge animal friends in our circle of friends. They immediately went to the veterinary clinic with him. After a scan, we were told something much worse that than we could have ever imagined. It turned out, in fact, that he had been shot! So somewhere in this neighborhood there is a huge animal torturer running around who shot our cat with a lead gun. The poor beast probably had to crawl all the way home in a matter of days. We will never get the same Duvel back, the same Duvel that enjoys life and goes out every day, the same Duvel that goes on walks with our dog, the same Duvel that was free. Chances are he will be partially paralyzed for the rest of his life, worse or not due to the risky surgery.
Onze geliefde kat Duvel was een paar dagen vermist. Je zou denken, eind goed, al goed, maar helaas is dat bij ons nu niet het geval.
Duvel kwam thuis in erbarmelijke toestand, hij kon amper op zijn achterpoten staan en was compleet uitgehongerd. Helaas waren we zelf niet thuis maar werden we omringd door enorme dierenvrienden in onze vriendenkring. Zij zijn meteen met hem naar de dierenkliniek gegaan. Na een scan kregen we iets veel ergers te horen dan we ons ooit hadden kunnen voorstellen. Het bleek namelijk dat hij was neergeschoten! Er loopt dus ergens in onze buurt een enorme dierenbeul rond die onze kat met een loodjes geweer heeft neergeschoten. Arme Duvel moest waarschijnlijk in een paar dagen helemaal naar huis kruipen. We zullen nooit meer dezelfde Duvel terugkrijgen, dezelfde Duvel die geniet van het leven en elke dag naar buiten gaat, dezelfde Duvel die gaat wandelen met onze hond, dezelfde Duvel die vrij was. De kans is groot dat hij voor de rest van zijn leven gedeeltelijk verlamd zal zijn, erger of niet door de riskante operatie.
