Mama, waar ben je?

Mama, waar ben je?

Stephania is docent in het VSO. Elke dag geeft zij haar leerlingen weer een nieuwe kans. Geeft u haar een nieuwe kans?

Hallo lieve mensen,

Ik ben Lu’Ayy en ik ben twee jaar oud. Mijn mama is Stephania.

Mom, where are you?

Hello dear people,

My name is Lu'Ayy and I am two years old. My mom is Stephania. She is very sweet, but also sick.  This makes it often difficult to do fun things together. Just going to the playground or the petting zoo costs mom a lot of energy. She always has to rest first and when we come home again. Mama tries to take care of me and play with me as much as possible, but this is not always possible because she is very tired. If mom stays sick, I will have to help her in a wheelchair, because she can no longer walk. I don't want to miss Mom, but then she has to get better.

I am Lu'Ayy's grandmother and I have tried to write this piece from his mind.  Stephania has MS.  Because MS is different for everyone, there is no telling how the condition will affect her life. What we do know is that Stephania gives up a bit of quality of life every day. Her hopes are pinned on a stem cell therapy in Mexico, which will shut down MS. This will mean that Lu'Ayy no longer has to search for his mommy. She can be there for him all over again.

For the time being, this treatment is not yet performed or reimbursed in the Netherlands.

Will you give Stephania and Lu'Ayy another chance?
