I am Dr. Michael Phiri, a qualified medical doctor who's currently pursuing Medical Super- Specialisation training in Internal Medicine and Neuroinfectious Disease at Levy Mwanawansa Medical University in Lusaka, Zambia.
It's a five years intense postgraduate training that combines Internal medicine specialisation and Infectious disease fellowship with sub-specialty in Neuroinfectious Diseases.
I'm expecting to enroll and register for my third year this month (March 2026), however I have failed to secure a study bank loan this academic year. Thus, leaving me in an awkward situation and at the verge of dropping out from my postgraduate studies.
Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) has a huge burden of infectious diseases with concerns of sub-optimal knowledge, delayed recognition and timely referral for specialised care of neuro infectious diseases. Hence, rendering many patients to recover with disabling neurological sequelae
Based on this humanitarian need I joined the training in Neuroinfectious Disease Fellowship with the aim to pioneer for better medical management, narrow knowledge gaps and mentor the next generation of Infectious Diseases specialists in Zambia and Sub-Saharan Africa at large.
This dream will only be realised once your assistance helps me to pay for my overdue tuition fees and clear my outstanding arrears too.
