Hallo lieve mensen,

Ik schrijf dit met een loodzwaar hart, trillende handen en tranen in mijn ogen. Ik doe dit voor een van de liefste, hardwerkende jonge koppels die ik ken. Mensen die op dit moment letterlijk verdrinken. De situatie is zo acuut dat de deurwaarders al binnen zijn geweest en alles hebben opgeschreven. Ze zien door de bomen het bos niet meer. De angst vreet hen van binnenuit op.

Uit pure schaamte durven ze zelf niet met hun gezicht op internet, dus ben ik vandaag hun stem. Iedereen die hen kent weet dat haar honden haar kinderen zijn. Voor hen staat ze nog op. Voor hen blijft ze vechten. En voor hen heeft ze nu de toestemming gegeven om dit te doen, want ze heeft niets meer te verliezen. Alleen haar dieren... en dat mag NIET gebeuren.

Hoe een droom veranderde in een gitzwarte nachtmerrie
Het begon met de droom van een eigen zaak. Maar door een gebrek aan werk en de economische crisis sloeg het noodlot keihard toe. Onbetaalbare belastingbrieven stroomden binnen en door de loodzware stress verloor de andere partner haar baan. Alsof de grond nog niet hard genoeg wegzakte, kregen ze de genadeslag: een ex-huisbaas die hen onterecht aanklaagt voor € 22.000 aan oude waterschade. Hun totale schuldenberg is € 40.000. De huurwaarborg staat geblokkeerd. Sociale instanties kunnen of willen hen op dit moment niet helpen. Ze staan er moederziel alleen voor.

De medische realiteit van haar 'kinderen'
Ze waren altijd perfect op alles voorbereid, maar de financiële verdrinking is zó snel gegaan dat het budget nu letterlijk € 0,- is. Dit zorgt voor een onmenselijke angst rondom de zorg voor hun twee honden:

1. Hun geliefde Stafford: Drie jaar geleden succesvol geopereerd aan een TPLO (kruisbandoperatie) links. Nu zit die poot vol met zware, pijnlijke artrose. Alsof dat niet genoeg is, heeft haar andere poot Patella Luxatie graad 3 (een zwaar verschoven knieschijf). Een operatie is onmogelijk omdat de hersteltijd te zwaar is voor haar andere, door artrose geteisterde poot. Ze overleeft nu puur op extreem zware, peperdure medicatie. Medicatie die er nu bijna niet meer is...
2. Hun Franse Bulldog Milo: Gelukkig is Milo op dit moment gezond, maar de angst voor de toekomst is verlammend. Zoals de meeste hondenliefhebbers weten, zijn Franse Bulldogs genetisch extreem vatbaar voor zware, kostbare aandoeningen. Denk aan het Brachycefaal Obstructief Syndroom (BOAS) wat ernstige ademhalingsproblemen veroorzaakt, maar ook aan orthopedische en neurologische afwijkingen zoals hemivertebrae (misvormde ruggenwervels), intervertebrale discusdegeneratie (IVDD) (hernia's) en vroegtijdige artrose. De wetenschwetenschap toont aan dat de medische nood bij dit ras plotseling en onverwacht kan toeslaan. De baasjes leven in constante doodsangst dat er iets met Milo gebeurt, omdat ze nu nog geen consultatie bij de dierenarts kunnen betalen.

Waarom we UW hulp nu nodig hebben
De deurwaarders dreigen alles mee te nemen. Als we nu niets doen, worden de honden de dupe van een faillissement en een oneerlijke rechtszaak. Met deze actie willen we:

• Acuut de dure medicatie en specifieke voeding voor de Stafford veiligstellen voor de komende maanden.
• Een noodpotje opbouwen voor Milo, zodat medische zorg bij een acute opflakker van rasspecifieke problemen direct gegarandeerd is.
• De meest kritieke achterstallen betalen om de deurwaarders per direct te stoppen, zodat het beslag wordt opgeheven en de honden hun vertrouwde thuis niet verliezen.
• Ademruimte creëren om met een Pro Deo advocaat die onterechte claim van € 22.000 aan te vechten.

Ze heeft niks meer te verliezen, behalve haar honden. Laat dat alstublieft niet gebeuren. Elke euro – al is het € 5,- – brengt een stukje medicatie, een stukje veiligheid en een sprankje hoop. Kun je niks missen? Deel dit dan massaal in honden- en steungroepen.

I am writing this with an unbearably heavy heart, trembling hands and tears in my eyes. I am doing this for one of the kindest, hardest-working young couples I know. People who are literally drowning right now. The situation is so urgent that bailiffs have already entered their home and documented everything. They can no longer see a way out. The fear is eating them alive.

Out of pure shame, they do not dare to show their faces online themselves, so today I am their voice. Everyone who knows them knows that her dogs are her children. They are the reason she keeps going. The reason she keeps fighting. And for them, she has now given permission for us to do this, because she feels she has nothing left to lose. Except her animals… and that must NOT happen.

How a dream turned into an absolute nightmare

It all started with the dream of having their own business. But due to a lack of work and the economic crisis, everything came crashing down. Unaffordable tax bills started piling up and, under the immense stress, the other partner lost her job.

As if things weren’t already difficult enough, they received the final blow: a former landlord is unjustly claiming €22,000 from them for old water damage.

Their total debt has now reached €40,000. Their rental deposit is frozen. Social services are currently unable or unwilling to help them. They are completely on their own.

The medical reality of her “children”

They have always been incredibly responsible and prepared for everything, but their financial situation deteriorated so quickly that their budget is now literally €0.

This has created an unbearable fear surrounding the care of their two dogs.

Their beloved Stafford:
Three years ago, she successfully underwent a TPLO surgery (cruciate ligament surgery) on her left leg. That leg is now suffering from severe and painful arthritis. As if that wasn’t enough, her other leg has Grade 3 Patellar Luxation (a severely displaced kneecap).

Surgery is currently impossible because the recovery would put too much strain on her other leg, which is already severely affected by arthritis.

She is currently getting through each day solely thanks to extremely strong and very expensive medication. Medication that is now almost completely gone…

Their French Bulldog, Milo:
Thankfully, Milo is healthy at the moment. But the fear of what the future could bring is overwhelming.

As many dog lovers know, French Bulldogs are genetically predisposed to a number of serious and potentially expensive health problems. These can include Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS), which can cause severe breathing difficulties, as well as orthopedic and neurological conditions such as hemivertebrae (malformed vertebrae), intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) (herniated discs), and early-onset arthritis.

Medical problems in this breed can arise suddenly and unexpectedly. Their owners are living in constant fear that something will happen to Milo, because right now they cannot even afford a veterinary consultation.

Why we need YOUR help right now

The bailiffs are threatening to take everything. If we do nothing now, the dogs could become victims of a financial collapse and an unjust legal claim.

With this fundraiser, we want to:

• Secure the expensive medication and specialized food for the Stafford for the coming months.
• Build an emergency fund for Milo, so that if a breed-related medical problem suddenly arises, veterinary care can be provided immediately.
• Pay the most critical outstanding debts in order to stop the bailiff action as quickly as possible, have the seizure lifted, and allow the dogs to remain in their familiar home.
• Create some breathing room so they can work with a court-appointed/pro bono lawyer to fight the unjust €22,000 claim.

She feels she has nothing left to lose, except her dogs.
