My uncle in Peru recently fell and developed a severe infection in his right leg that quickly turned into sepsis. The infection damaged his kidneys, lungs, and urinary tract, and also caused pneumonia. Because of delays and neglect in the public health system, he was left unattended for several days and eventually fell into a coma for two days.

He has just come out of the coma, but he can barely move his head or whisper, and he remains dependent on oxygen and strong antibiotics. His condition is still critical, and his recovery will be long and uncertain.

My father had to travel urgently to Lima to help, but the costs of private doctors, hospital care, and ongoing treatment are far beyond what our family can afford. In addition, my grandmother, who is 90 years old, depends on us as well.

We are asking for donations from kind and generous people who can help us cover the medical expenses and give my uncle a real chance to survive and recover. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference.
