Thomas (31), father of a young family, terminally ill with brain cancer.

Then suddenly, you have cancer in your head, a Ganglioglioma, and I the first in the world with (WHO grade 3). And now?

Since 2019, we have been battling a rare brain tumor called Ganglioglioma (WHO grade 3). After a surgery in 2020, the tumor returned in 2022, and now I have become a test subject. I underwent surgery again, and radiation and chemotherapy seemed to be the most effective solutions to try and see if they would help. Unfortunately, the tumor returned after nine months and was no longer operable, having grown to 6 cm. An experimental drug, the Drup study, seemed effective for a short period, but this also only worked for 4.5 months, and the tumor grew again. Recently, I underwent surgery again in 2024.

Four weeks after the surgery, the tumor has returned and is now observed in two places (1.5 cm), but it is uncertain if there are any effective treatments left. The tumor becomes more aggressive after each treatment, becoming resistant and more malignant.

After surgeries, radiation, and chemotherapy, the tumor continues to come back. Now, after recent surgeries, our family faces an uncertain future. I will not recover, and the options are running out, the well is dry. We want to spend precious time with our family and loved ones, and create valuable memories while I am still fit enough, as the tumor continues to recur and grow. It is aggressive and increases rapidly.

Your support during this difficult time would be invaluable to us and our loved ones.

With gratitude and love,

The de Wolf Family
