It has been almost two weeks since the exposure of the cover-up at the ICC of Prosecutor Khan sexual harassment deeds. Many leading global media outlets have picked up the story including WSJ, CBS, Daily Mail, Telegraph, Le Monde, FT to name a few. Moreover, AP and the Guardian have issued their own independent inquires into the matter, including testimonies by many ICC employees, and have verified the following facts:
- Prosecutor Karim Khan, had for over a year, sexually harassed a female employee working under him.
- Upon learning of the existence of an imminent complaint, Karim Khan, together with another unknown (at this stage) elected official at the ICC, have tried to silence the victim and disavow her complaint
- The IOM (Internal Oversight Mechanism) of the ICC have closed the investigation after 5 days following the victim's reluctance to file an official complaint for fear of retaliation and after being asked intimate questions in front of her child.
- On May 4, 2024, an official complaint has been submitted to the IOM by a third party who witnessed some of the events first hand and who was in contact with the victim.
- Senior members of the ICC all knew about the complaint and have done nothing about it - covering up for Karim Khan.
- Following the independent inquires of the Guardian and the AP, and even after it was reported that the Prosecutor have tried to disrupt the investigation (despite being warned) the ICC remains silent and Khan issued a statement on October 28, 2024, claiming he had asked the IOM to start an internal investigation.
If we don't do anything about it, Khan will escape punishment for his crimes and continue to terrorize both employees and superiors.
We are asking for your support with donations so we can keep this investigation open for the sake of the ICC and for all victims, male and female, exposed to sexual harassment at their workplace, and who are afraid to report for the fear of retaliation.
