We are Andrea and Maria Eirini, feline professionals based in Amsterdam that want to help even more. 

We want to support a group of Thassos islanders (@thassoscats) committed to alleviating the suffering of stray cats. With vets only on the island for the last 15 years, animal care and sterilization are not yet part of the local culture, and cats are seen mainly for pest control.

The main focus is sterilization and winter feeding stations. In the off-season, entire villages close, leaving cats who relied on tourists for food to starve, with autumn-born kittens not surviving. Their feeding stations help them feed nearly 300 cats daily, costing around 600 euros per month, and identify cats for sterilization.

Since November 2023, they've sterilized 194 cats, and they are working as quickly as possible with two local vets. There is a significant reduction in kittens in Golden Beach and are now focusing on Panagia and Skala Potamia villages.

They are dedicated to this cause, but there is need  for support to continue. Every donation helps to reach more cats,
