Improvisatie-theater is een interactieve vorm van toneel, waarbij het publiek gevraagd wordt om mee de scène te bepalen.

Hello everyone,

At the end of June, Tess underwent her first major surgery for endometriosis. Thanks to your donations and a generous gift from Mr. S.H., we were able to go ahead with this procedure—for which we are extremely grateful. Without you, this wouldn't have been possible.

It's been five months now. The surgery went very well: a significant portion of the endometriosis, along with several fibroids and cysts, was removed. However, during the procedure, it became clear that the situation was much more serious than anticipated. The endometriosis has grown deep into the intestinal wall, and Tess was also diagnosed with adenomyosis. These conditions carry the risk of losing part of her intestine and uterus.

In addition to other symptoms, these conditions also cause severe, often daily, pain, requiring Tess to regularly take strong painkillers, including opioids. The side effects of this, and the symptoms themselves, mean she often can't get out of bed. Symptoms from her other conditions also often keep her bedridden. It's an exhausting reality that demands a lot from her body.

A second surgery is necessary for the remaining problems.

Despite everything, Tess has noticed improvement in the areas that have already been treated since the first procedure. The removal of four uterine fibroids and the first implants of endometriosis brought relief, and we are extremely grateful for that. One large fibroid required extensive suturing of the uterus, which will take time to heal. A follow-up visit will be scheduled for early next year.

Yet, the symptoms from the intestinal endometriosis, the adenomyosis, and her other conditions persist daily. Therefore, we are doing everything we can to ensure the next treatment takes place as safely as possible, with the preservation of her organs and nerves as the primary goal.

Due to the combination of conditions she has, each procedure is considerably more difficult and carries a much higher risk of complications.

Hallo allemaal,

Eind juni onderging Tess haar eerste grote operatie voor endometriose. Dankzij jullie donaties en een gulle schenking van meneer S.H. konden we deze ingreep laten doorgaan — iets waar we jullie enorm dankbaar voor zijn. Zonder jullie was dit niet mogelijk geweest.

Het is nu 5 maanden geleden. De operatie werd heel goed uitgevoerd: een belangrijk deel van de endometriose, meerdere fibromen en cystes kon verwijderd worden. Toch bleek tijdens de ingreep dat de situatie veel ernstiger was dan gedacht. De endometriose is diep in de darmwand ingegroeid en Tess kreeg de diagnose adenomyose er nog bij. Deze zaken brengen het risico mee dat ze een deel van haar darm en haar baarmoeder kan verliezen.

Deze aandoeningen veroorzaken naast andere klachten ook zeer zware, vaak dagelijkse pijn, waardoor Tess geregeld zware pijnstillers, waaronder opioïden, moet nemen. De bijwerkingen daarvan, en de klachten zelf, maken dat ze regelmatig niet uit bed kan. Ook door klachten van haar andere aandoeningen is zij dikwijls aan bed gebonden. Het is een uitputtende realiteit die veel van haar lichaam vraagt.

Voor de resterende problemen is een tweede operatie nodig.

Ondanks alles merkt Tess sinds de eerste ingreep wél verbetering op de plaatsen die al behandeld zijn. De verwijdering van vier baarmoederfibromen en de eerste endometriosehaarden bracht verlichting, en daar zijn we enorm dankbaar voor. Eén groot fibroom vroeg een uitgebreide hechting van de baarmoeder, wat tijd nodig heeft om te herstellen. Begin volgend jaar volgt hiervoor een controle.

Toch blijven de klachten door de endometriose in de darmen, de adenomyose en haar andere aandoeningen dagelijks aanwezig. Daarom zetten we alles op alles om de volgende behandeling zo veilig mogelijk te laten plaatsvinden, met het behoud van organen en zenuwen als belangrijkste doel.

Door de combinatie van aandoeningen die ze heeft, verloopt elke ingreep namelijk een pak moeilijker en met veel meer (risico op) complicaties.

In het kader van De Warmste Week (thema onzichtbare ziektes) plannen we nieuwe acties.

Dat brengt ons weer een stapje dichter bij ons doel!

On March 1, 2025, we were chosen to be one of the charities at the Mephistow Comedy Night.

We are super grateful for this opportunity and for the proceeds.

For every ticket sold, a portion went to our fundraising. A total of 1250 euros was raised.

wij hebben ons doelbedrag opgesplitst. Ipv onmiddellijk voor het nodige doelbedrag (250 000 euro) te gaan om ALLES te kunnen doen, gaan we eerst voor deze doelen: operaties voor endometriose en fibromen, maag en slokdarm, MCAS, Neurophysics, rugaandoeningen en herstel schade aangericht aan gebit en gewrichten.

Hopelijk kunnen we hier zo snel mogelijk mee starten!

Wij zijn alleszins druk bezig met de artsen te overleggen wat de juiste eerste stappen zijn. Op naar beterschap voor Tess!

Hello everyone,

We have split our target amount. Instead of immediately going for the necessary target amount (250,000 euros) to be able to do EVERYTHING, we are first going for these goals: operations for endometriosis and fibroids, stomach and esophagus, MCAS, Neurophysics, back problems and repair of damage caused to teeth and joints.

We hope to be able to start with this as soon as possible!

We are in any case busy discussing with the doctors what the right first steps are. On to a speedy recovery for Tess!

Lieve mensen,

Eerst en vooral willen we jullie heel veel goeds wensen dit jaar en tegelijk ontzettend bedanken om onze fundraising te volgen.

Het betekent echt enorm veel voor ons want Tess heeft jullie nu meer dan ooit keihard nodig.

Het nieuwe jaar is voor haar/ons jammer genoeg in mineur begonnen.

Op oudejaarsavond kreeg Tess tijdens een consultatie te horen dat haar endometriose in een ver gevorderd stadium zit en zij een deel van haar darmen moet laten wegsnijden. Dit kwam echt aan als een mokerslag en laat ons sinds dat moment niet meer los.

De endometriose op haar darmen werd helaas jarenlang niet gezien/vermeld door de artsen waar Tess naartoe ging. Enkel nu ze bij een buitenlandse expert te rade ging, werd dit opgemerkt. 6 jaar geleden was dit al zichtbaar op haar beelden. Indien het toen  geopereerd werd, had Tess haar organen wel kunnen sparen.

Dit is dus heel zwaar om te moeten verwerken.

Ook de risico’s van zo’n ingreep zijn niet te onderschatten.

Daarnaast heeft ze 2 endometriosecystes in haar eierstok, hierdoor gaan ook eicellen verloren. Verder is de endometriose ook nog verspreid over heel haar buik.

Bovenop alle andere problemen die zij al heeft, valt dit enorm zwaar.

De combinatie van verschillende aandoeningen die Tess heeft, zorgt dat zij een complexe reeks van ingrepen nodig heeft bij een gespecialiseerd team.

De kosten die dit met zich meebrengt, maken het natuurlijk nog zwaarder.

De operatie zelf zou in totaal minstens 25 000 euro kosten.

Daarnaast zijn er nog bijkomende kosten voor verdere onderzoeken, consultaties, ziekenhuisverblijf, verplicht verblijf in studio in de buurt van de kliniek (op vraag van de arts) en het vervoer.

Die komen neer op nog eens een schatting van minstens 10 000 euro.

Deze kosten zijn berekend op het feit dat Tess geen complicaties zou doen.

Het is echter een zeer zware operatie en tot nu toe deed Tess altijd al complicaties op de meest banale ingrepen.

We houden dus ons hart vast en moeten hopen op het beste.

Het behalen van deze som is nu wel erg dringend aangezien de arts ons aanraadt om deze ingreep zeker niet uit te stellen.

Hoe langer deze ingreep uitgesteld wordt, hoe erger de verspreiding van de endometriose en hoe meer darm en andere weefsels er moeten weg gehaald worden.

Naast de endometriose moet zij tegelijk 2 grote en meerdere kleine fibromen laten weghalen uit haar baarmoeder. Tess heeft nog niet de kans gehad om voor een kinderwens te gaan en wil haar baarmoeder dan ook zoveel mogelijk kunnen sparen.

Aangezien dit alles heel invasief is, zeker voor Tess gezien haar bijkomende problemen door Ehlers-Danlos syndroom (risico’s ivm hartproblemen, MCAS, POTS, slechte heling, enz.), zou het kunnen dat zij die fibromen eerst kan laten verkleinen met andere technieken. Dit kan haar helpen bij de volgende ingreep (waarbij de endometriose verwijderd wordt).

Wij zouden daar heel graag gebruik kunnen van maken om Tess haar leed en de kans op ernstige complicaties zo klein mogelijk te maken.

We kunnen niet ongedaan maken dat ze zware ingrepen moet hebben, maar alles dat we wel kunnen doen om het minder erg te maken, moeten we absoluut proberen.

Het totaal voor al deze ingrepen en alles dat daarbij komt, wordt gerekend op minstens 55000 euro.

Wij hopen dan ook dat we snel voldoende kunnen inzamelen om Tess zo snel mogelijk hiermee al te helpen. Dit zou al een eerste grote stap zijn richting beterschap. Pas daarna kunnen we gaan voor de andere dringende medische zaken.

Dear people,

First of all, we would like to wish you all the best this year and at the same time thank you very much for following our fundraising.

It really means a lot to us because Tess needs you now more than ever.

Unfortunately, the new year has started on a minor note for her/us.

On New Year's Eve, Tess was told during a consultation that her endometriosis is in an advanced stage and that she has to have part of her intestines removed. This really came as a hammer blow and has not let us go since that moment.

Unfortunately, the endometriosis on her intestines was not seen/mentioned for years by the doctors Tess went to. Only now that she consulted a foreign expert, this was noticed. 6 years ago, this was already visible on her images. If it had been operated on then, Tess could have saved her organs.

This is therefore very difficult to process.

The risks of such an operation should also not be underestimated.

In addition, she has 2 endometriosis cysts in her ovary, which also causes the loss of eggs. Furthermore, the endometriosis is also spread throughout her abdomen.

On top of all the other problems she already has, this is extremely difficult.

The combination of various conditions that Tess has means that she needs a complex series of interventions by a specialised team.

The costs involved make it even more difficult, of course.

The operation itself would cost at least 25,000 euros in total.

In addition, there are additional costs for further examinations, consultations, hospital stay, mandatory stay in a studio near the clinic (at the request of the doctor) and transport.

These amount to another estimate of at least 10,000 euros.

These costs are calculated on the fact that Tess would not have any complications.

However, it is a very serious operation and until now Tess has always had complications with the most banal interventions.

So we are holding our breath and have to hope for the best.

Achieving this sum is now very urgent as the doctor advises us not to postpone this procedure.

The longer this procedure is postponed, the worse the spread of the endometriosis and the more intestine and other tissues have to be removed.

In addition to the endometriosis, she must have 2 large and several small fibroids removed from her uterus at the same time. Tess has not yet had the chance to have a child and therefore wants to save her uterus as much as possible.

Since all this is very invasive, especially for Tess given her additional problems due to Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (risks due to heart problems, MCAS, POTS, poor healing, etc.), it is possible that she can first have those fibroids reduced using other techniques. This can help her with the next procedure (in which the endometriosis is removed).

We would really like to use this to minimize Tess' suffering and the chance of serious complications.

We cannot undo the fact that she has to have major interventions, but we must absolutely try everything we can to make it less bad.

The total for all these interventions and everything that comes with it is expected to be at least 55,000 euros.

We therefore hope that we can quickly collect enough to help Tess with this as soon as possible. This would be a first big step towards recovery. Only then can we move on to the other urgent medical matters.
