My name is Kamal Ghazal from Gaza. At the start of the genocide, my family were displaced from our house in the northeast to our aunt's house which was more in the center. Both houses has been bombed and completely destroyed. After that, they were displaced to the city of Khaniouns. Again, they were displaced to the city of Insirat. Eventually, they were displaced to the city of DeirAlbalh where they live now at tents. During these moments, I had to die every minute wondering whether they made it alive or not because there was a complete cut off of connection.

My decision to create this funding page was difficult because I kept telling myself that this genocidal aggression would end soon. However, the repeated displacement of my family and the fact that they have repeatedly been meters away from death scared me to death and ensured me that I should launch this campaign.

I have just graduated from my master's degree in Turkey so I have been living there for a while. Since children don't know about the bureaucracy of the world, my little brother, sister and nephews, out of fear, innocently and continuously asked me to bring them next to me, away from the continous bombardment. This also helped to decide to launch this campaign.

In the last months, and especially during the last days, we have mourned the loss of several members of our direct family (two of my cousins with their children). I know that many of my friends have been killed but I do not even know if I have any friends left because there is no connection.

My parents, 11 siblings (some of them under 16 years old) and four nephews, are still alive at the time of writing. To get them all out of Gaza, I would need US$70,000 - an amount I do not have. Leaving through Egypt costs 5000 per adult and 2500 per children.

If you are able to donate, a little or a lot, to keep my family members safe, please do so. A pot will not end the bombs, the innocent deaths, the shattered lives of the ongoing genocide or the brutal colonization of Palestine. But I repeat it and will repeat it again and again: each of these lives matters.
