Help Rumah Belajar Bright te overleven! (ENGLISH BELOW!)

Yolanda is de oprichtster van Rumah Belajar Bright (letterlijk: Leerhuis Bright) in Pematang Siantar op het Indonesische eiland Sumatra. Zij heeft deze school opgericht om kinderen van ouders met een laag inkomen de kans te bieden Engels en Wiskunde te leren. Yolanda is overdag docente op een reguliere school, waarna zij haar activiteiten voortzet op op haar eigen school. Ze betaalt de kosten voor de huur van het schoolgebouw, het lesmateriaal, de vergoeding van de docenten, et cetera, volledig uit eigen zak. Hoewel zij het zelf ook niet breed heeft, probeert zij er kosten wat het kost voor te zorgen dat de kinderen onderwijs kunnen blijven ontvangen.

Echter, Yolanda is zwanger en zal binnen afzienbare tijd bevallen van haar tweede kindje. Dit betekent niet alleen dat de kosten van haar eigen leven zullen stijgen, maar ook dat zij voor meerdere weken onbetaald thuis zal zitten, aangezien Indonesië geen betaald zwangerschapsverlof kent.

Dit heeft tot gevolg dat het voortbestaan van Rumah Belajar Bright op het spel staat! Dat mag niet gebeuren! Vijftig kinderen zijn volledig afhankelijk van deze school om een solide basis voor zowel Engels als wiskunde te leggen. Daarom roep ik iedereen op om een (klein) bedrag te doneren, zodat Yolanda haar zorgen over het voortbestaan van haar passie kunnen worden weggenomen.

Yolanda is the founder of Rumah Belajar Bright (literally, Learning House Bright) in Pematang Siantar on the Indonesian island of Sumatra. She founded this school to give children of low-income parents the opportunity to learn English and Mathematics. Yolanda is a teacher at a regular school during the day, after which she continues her activities at her own school. She pays the costs for the rent of the school building, the teaching materials, the remuneration of the teachers, et cetera, completely out of her own pocket. Although she herself is not very well off, she tries at all costs to ensure that the children can continue to receive an education.

However, Yolanda is pregnant and will soon give birth to her second child. This means not only that her own costs will increase, but also that she will be home unpaid for several weeks, as Indonesia does not have paid maternity leave.

As a result, the survival of Rumah Belajar Bright is at stake! This should not be allowed to happen! Fifty children depend entirely on this school to build a solid foundation for both English and math. Therefore, I urge everyone to donate a (small) amount so that Yolanda's concerns about the survival of her passion can be addressed.
