My name is Rachel Hajjar and dogs are all my life.

In 2008 I founded the association SOS Animaux de Compagnie in Martinique, motivated by the desire to find alternative solutions to the difficult decisions taking place on the island, in particular euthanasia.

Today, without a shelter, I am desperately trying to save the dogs by taking them home and placing them in trustworthy foster families. However, the number of stray dogs and the urgency in Martinique are beyond my capabilities. I take care of 40 dogs and my house has turned into a shelter where I welcome 10 of them.

I need help to take care of them because I love them more than my life.

The funds raised will be used to purchase a land and build the “Pat'ile Paradis” refuge. This shelter, full of affection, will allow us to save as many abandoned and stray dogs as possible, respond to emergency calls and requests for care that arise daily.  At the same time, we will:

• Launch awareness raising days open to the community
• Propose sterilization policies 
• Activate a remote adoption service

The shelter will play a vital role in providing a safe, loving and comfortable place for dogs, while maximizing financial resources to ensure they receive appropriate veterinary care and adequate nutrition.
