Another short update. Today the third hole was digged and the first pump was installed, including the concrete plateau and drainage. Now it has to dry for about 4 days and then the people will be able to get their water here! 

Nog een korte update. Vandaag is het derde gat gegraven en is de eerste pomp geïnstalleerd, inclusief het betonnen plateau en de afwatering. Nu moet het ongeveer 4 dagen drogen en dan kunnen de mensen hier hun water krijgen! 

Ein weiteres kurzes Update. Heute wurde das dritte Loch gegraben und die erste Pumpe installiert, einschließlich des Betonplateaus und der Drainage. Jetzt muss es etwa 4 Tage trocknen und dann können die Leute hier ihr Wasser bekommen!

Today two boreholes were dug! That's some very exciting news on the 10th (!) day after releasing this fundraiser. The first borehole had to be dug 10 meters deeper because there was not enough water at 50m, but thanks to all of you we had enough money to do so.

Vandaag zijn er twee boreholes gegraven! Dat is geweldig nieuws op de 10e (!) dag na het uitbrengen van deze inzamelingsactie. De eerste boorput moest 10 meter dieper gegraven worden omdat er op 50 meter niet genoeg water was, maar dankzij jullie allemaal hadden we daar genoeg geld voor.

Heute wurden zwei Bohrlöcher gebohrt! Das ist eine sehr aufregende Nachricht am 10. (!), 5 Tage nachdem diese Spendenaktion veröffentlicht wurde. Das erste Bohrloch musste 10 Meter tiefer gebohrt werden, weil das Wasser in 50 m Tiefe nicht ausreichte, aber dank Ihnen allen hatten wir genug Geld, um es zu tun.

Vanmorgen zijn ze begonnen met het boren van de eerste borehole! 

Heute Morgen wurde das erste Bohrloch gebohrt! 

Another short update.  (Nederlands hieronder) 

Yesterday we paid the first 2 boreholes, today we pay the last. It will take two days to finish it like in the picture. The applications with the government are accepted and so on Wednesday they will start with the first one. 

Secondly: via another way I got a lot of money too, which means that the goal is reached, and exceeded! Thank God for your generosity! 

Due to higher prices and a terrible exchange rate we're not yet there for the tent, so please keep sharing. 

Nog een korte update.

Gisteren hebben we de eerste 2 boreholes betaald, vandaag de laatste. Het zal twee dagen duren om het af te maken zoals op de foto. De aanvragen bij de overheid zijn geaccepteerd en woensdag beginnen ze dus met de eerste.

Ten tweede: via een andere weg heb ik ook veel geld gekregen, wat betekent dat het doel is bereikt, en overtroffen! Godzijdank voor jullie vrijgevigheid!

Door hogere prijzen en een belabberde wisselkoers zijn we er nog niet voor de tent, dus blijf alsjeblieft delen. 

Dankzij het enorme bedrag dat in de eerste week is gedoneerd, zijn we afgelopen zaterdag al in de gelegenheid geweest om naar verschillende drilling companies te gaan om een offerte aan te vragen. Die viel wel wat hoger uit dat verwacht doordat de prijs van de pompen behoorlijk omhoog is gegaan. Gelukkig hebben we al wel genoeg geld voor 3 pompen!

Gisteren hebben we ook met de counselor van dit gebied gesproken om toestemming op papier te regelen, die is nodig voor het boren, en om de locaties te bepalen voor de pompen.

Vanmorgen is er iemand gekomen met apparatuur om te bepalen waar er genoeg water op een diepte van maximaal 50 meter zit. Dit doen we om te voorkomen dat er wordt geboord zonder dat we water tegen komen, dan ben je namelijk je geld kwijt.

Morgenochtend hopen we de waterpompen definitief te bestellen en te betalen, dat betekent dat er aan het einde van deze week waarschijnlijk al 2 staan die gebruikt kunnen worden, misschien zelfs al alle 3!

De counselor schreef vanmorgen het volgende aan me:

Thanks for bringing hope and touching lives of our community in a very significant way. At last people will have safe clean water which they have not had since time immemorial!

De dank hier is groot, zowel van ons als van de communities! Mag ik jullie als donateurs nog één keer vragen de actie te delen met familie, vrienden, collega's, bekenden of wie dan ook? We willen ook graag de tent realiseren, maar daar is nog wel wat geld voor nodig. 

Thanks to the enormous amount donated in the first week, we were able to go to different drilling companies last Saturday to ask for a quote. It turned out to be a bit higher than expected because the price of the pumps went up considerably. Fortunately, we already have enough money for 3 pumps!

Yesterday we also met with the counselor of this area to arrange permission on paper, which is needed for drilling, and to determine the locations for the pumps.

This morning someone came with equipment to determine where there is enough water at a depth of up to 50 meters. We do this to avoid drilling without encountering water, because then you lose your money.

Tomorrow morning we hope to finally order and pay for the water pumps, which means that by the end of this week there will probably already be 2 that can be used, maybe even all 3!

The counselor wrote the following to me this morning:

The gratitude here is great, both from us and from the communities! May I ask you as donors one more time to share the fundraising with family, friends, colleagues, acquaintances or anyone else? We would also like to realize the tent, but we still need some money for that.
