Hello everyone. My father Luís has been struggling with various health problems for 9 years. In 2014, he developed cirrhosis of the liver, so doctors gave him little chance of survival, but he still survived. 3 years later he suffered a heart attack, which he also barely survived. In 2019, he was diagnosed with cancer of a vocal cord, which caused complications with speaking because a vocal cord had to be removed. Despite all this, my father fought the disease, but it kept getting worse. In December last year my father went into cardiac arrest and was dead for 15 minutes until resuscitation. He managed to survive this without much brain damage, but unfortunately in December he was diagnosed with a new tumor on his other vocal cord that had grown and they had to completely remove his throat. Due to the weakened state of my father's heart, chemotherapy was not possible and the tumor grew larger, leaving him unable to speak. My father, Luís, has fought with strength and courage under life's circumstances, but this has put pressure on my family due to economic difficulties and to provide him with ongoing medical care that we cannot provide.
