Update 24/04/2025

With a scared heart but still full of courage, we went for a consultation at Anicura in Astene.

Franklin has gained a few kilograms and the wound has healed very well.

An ultrasound had zeet position news that no metastases were found. In short, the fearful dough and weeks are over, and further recovery can take place. 

He does suffer from a cold on the sinuses, but we have received the necessary medication for further follow-up.

We will go back in September for a complete check-up and follow-up.

We would like to thank all the donors for the support we received, and not only the mental support.

The tears of sorrow now taste sweet with relief.

Mr. Franklin can now truly enjoy his well deserved rest and old age after yet an uphill battle that was not correctly diagnosed by third parties.

Update 24/04/2025

Met een bang hartje maar toch volle moed op consultatie bij Anicura te Astene.

Franklin is een paar kilogram aangekomen de wonde is zeer goed genezen.

Een echografie had zeet posities nieuws dat er geen uitzaaiingen zijn vastgesteld. Kortom de bange degen en weken zijn voorbij, en het verdere herstel kan geschieden. Wel heeft hij last van een verkoudheid op de sinussen, doch hebben we de nodige medicatie meegekregen voor verdere opvolging.

In september gaan we terug langs voor een volledige controle en opvolging.

Bij deze willen we nogmaals alle donateurs hartelijk bedanken voor de steun die we mochten ontvangen, en niet alleen de mentale.

Ook speciale dank aan het volledige team van https://www.anicura.be/klinieken/oost-vlaanderen/hondenkat/ die toch het hart hebben op de juiste plek.

Wie met passie werkt oogst mooie resultaten.

De traantjes van verdriet smaken nu zoet van opluchting.

Meneer Franklin kan nu echt genieten van zijn verdiende rust en oude dag na toch een zware strijd die niet juist werd gediagnosticeerd door derden.  

Update Franklin 07/04/2025

We just received a phone message with the test for malignant tumor cells both in the blood samples and the tumor itself. 

Both were negative which was reassuring for all of us in terms of further healing/follow-up.

He himself is reasonably active, eating well and his natural needs are gradually taking on the solid form as before.

We hope that the recovery may continue like this, with a monthly follow-up from the vet to still be proactive should a complication occur.

Once again we are very grateful to “dog and cat” of Anuciura for the good care.

As well as all the donations and concern from friends and neighbors.

With crossed fingers we face the future, as Franklin and Django are really a part of our family.

Update Franklin 07/04/2025

We kregen daarnet telefonisch bericht met het onderzoek op kwaadaardige tumorcellen zowel in de bloedstalen als de tumor zelf. Beiden waren negatief wat voor ons allemaal een geruststellend gevoel gaf voor het verdere genezing/opvolging.

Zelf is hij redelijk actief, eet goed en zijn natuurlijke behoeftes krijgen stilaan de vaste vorm zoals vroeger.

We hopen dat het herstel zo mag verder verlopen, met een maandelijkse opvolging van de dierenarts om toch pro actief te zijn mocht er toch een complicatie optreden.

We zijn nogmaals "hond en kat" van Anuciura zeer dankbaar voor de goede zorgen.

Eveneens alle donaties en de bezorgdheid van vrienden en buren.

Met gekruiste vingers gaan we de toekomst tegemoet, daar Franklin en Django toch echt een deel van onze familie zijn.

Herewith an update from Franklin after one week:

The visit to the vet was very positive, he is making platelets again. Also the operation wound is recovering very well, his appetite and playfulness are slowly returning. Next week we will have to wait anxiously because then we will know if chemo therapy has to be started for his quality of life. Until then, we will take good care of him so that everything can evaluate in the right direction. To all who have donated THANK YOU very much for your support. All donations will be put to good use, some of them for those who have no means to help their four-legged friend in painful moments.

Hierbij een update van Franklin na één week:

Het bezoek aan de dierenarts was zeer positief, hij maakt terug bloedplaatjes aan. Ook de operatie wonde hersteld  zeer goed, eveneens zijn eetlust en speelsheid komt langzaam terug op gang. Volgende week is het nog even afwachten vol spanning daar we dan weten of er al dan niet chemo therapie moet opgestart worden voor zijn levenskwaliteit. Tot dan  gaanwe hem goed verzorgen met argusogen zodat alles in goede banen kan evalueren. Aan allen die gedoneerd hebben HARTELIJK BEDANKT voor jullie steun. Alle giften zullen goed besteed worden, waarvan deels  voor diegenen die geen middelen hebben om hun viervoeter te helpen bij pijnlijke momenten.

Tumor is removed 4kg …… no words.

Our friend is also back home for recovery and alot of TLC

The beast is removed, and now alot of TLC for our little friend.

A 4 kilogram tumor was removed; it is still under further investigation to which strain it belongs. So that chemo therapy can be started.

Een 4 kilogram wegende tumor is verwijderd, deze wordt nog verder onderzocht tot welke stam deze behoort. Zodat er chemo therapie kan worden opgestart.

Update: een 4 kg tumor is verwijderd uit de buikholte. Bloedplaatjes staan positief, we wachten met veel hoop. Hoe sterk is een galgo van 13jaar , we worden er stil van.
