We create and distribute posters for peace. Since november 2023 our poster initiative started the call for peace became even more important. We want to provide the Netherlands of posters and beyond. Therefore we need more donations for printing and distribution. We want to make more posters and reach even more people.

Posters for peace
We have already distributed about 44.000 posters, but we want to reach even more people. You may have already seen the poster with a dove of peace appearing behind various windows. This poster by designer Max Kisman calls for peace. With a black and white image we try to bring a little nuance to the polarization in the world. We believe that a strong images can connect people in a positive way. We want the call for peace visible in the streets. Two other designs are made by designer Samira Charroud and typographer Daan Drubbel.

This poster initiative started spontaneously in 2023 and arose from a feeling of powerlessness when we saw so much violence. Now that the analogue campaign is going 'viral', the costs are becoming higher than our resources. We see that many people want the Peace Now images and we would like to keep the momentum going by distributing more posters and stickers. This is relevant as the wars appear far from having reached their peak. 

We are now distributing the poster through several distribution points/stores in Utrecht, Amersfoort, Amsterdam, Groningen, Breda and Culemborg. We also ship for a donation fee and some people have a PDF. We want to spread the message of peace in The Netherlands and beyond. 

✌Initiator
Marije Lieuwens, curator and communications advisor from Utrecht, started the project. She had experience with such a poster project because she started a hopeful poster in 2020 during the start of the Corona with an image of Dick Bruna and the text 'Utrecht, take care of each other'. Marije: “If you want to see change in the real world, you also have to take real action. Don’t just click petitions. Demonstrate and paste posters. I wanted to introduce new images and slogans. I want to make people who are against mass murder visible.”

✌WHAT DO WE NEED?
We are looking for money to print new posters and stickers. Of course we have invested our own money and time, but there is a limit to our elasticity. We fall outside the rules of traditional funding. Since Peace Now does not comply with the rules of most funds, we are looking for an alternative or an exception. That's why we now choose for crowdfunding.

✌WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO?
The poster is a success and it is wonderful that it is widely embraced. We have already distributed a huge number of posters (44.000). We want to paste a lot more and distribute more. We offer the poster free in libraries, shops and bars. The poster already creates many wonderful encounters and conversations. People who felt powerless because of all the images of war in the news use the poster to express their feelings and their wishes for the world.
