Currently, there are over 1,500 people-on-the-move residing in the northern Greece region, a majority of whom live in one of three camps surrounding loannina. Most people are either waiting for a decision on their asylum case or have to live without official documents following a rejected claim. Forcing hundreds of people, often living with trauma and limited material resources, to live in isolated camp structures, without adequate services. This can make moving forward with life and contributing to their new community all the more challenging. The Community Center in loannina exists to fill this gap by providing to people’s basic needs including distributing material resources, running social activities and offering learning opportunities. To continue to provide this support, significant funding is required, which is where you come in. All funds donated ensure displaced people have the resources they are lacking and desperately need.
